Zombie Carnival by Pragmatic Play: RTP 96.50%, the 5,000x cap and why a 1,000-round demo sample swings so far

Short answer: Pragmatic Play’s demo data lists Zombie Carnival at a regular RTP of 96.50% and a maximum win of 5,000 times the bet. The game plays on a 4×6 layout, and its brain symbol is the scatter that can trigger free spins. At a ₱20 spin, the theoretical return is ₱96.50 per ₱100 wagered and the cap is ₱100,000. Those are the provider’s figures. We also ran a 1,000-round demo sample, and it returned 126% of the amount staked. That is not evidence that the game pays more than its RTP. It shows how far a short sample can move.

jilibet keeps three things apart: what Pragmatic Play publishes, what we calculated from those figures, and what the demo sample recorded. We did not play with real money, and we did not check any operator’s version of the game.

The game page and demo data agree on the regular RTP and the 5,000x maximum win. The purchase RTP comes from the demo data alone, and we have not checked what any purchase costs on a real platform.

A peso reading at ₱20 per spin

Our calculation, using the regular RTP and a flat ₱20 stake:

Measure (our calculation) Result at ₱20 per spin
Theoretical loss per spin (3.5% of stake) ₱0.70
Theoretical loss per 100 spins (₱2,000 wagered) ₱70.00
Largest possible win (5,000 × ₱20) ₱100,000
Chance of the maximum win in one round about 1 in 4.8 million

These are long-run averages. They say nothing about how any one session will end.

What our 1,000-round demo sample recorded

We ran 1,000 rounds on Pragmatic Play’s free demo server at 2.00 demo units per spin (0.10 coin × 20 lines). The demo returned 931 paid spins. Each paid spin was counted with every win it produced, including free-spin wins it triggered. The other calls were continuation steps and did not add a stake.

Bar chart of 931 paid spins by win size: 77.0% no win, 15.0% under 1x, 2.8% from 1x to 2x, 3.2% from 2x to 5x, 1.0% from 5x to 20x and 1.0% at 20x or more
Chart by jilibet from our demo tally. It describes one sample, not the game’s long-run distribution.

Of the 931 paid spins, 23.0% returned something above zero and 77.0% returned nothing. The largest single result was 285 times the stake. The sample returned 125.9% of the amount staked, and the 95% range for that return, calculated from the spread of individual results, runs from 42% to 210%.

That range is so wide that it tells us almost nothing about the RTP. One result of 285x and another of 236x make up a large share of the total return, so a few rounds set the whole figure. The 96.50% RTP is a long-run average over far more spins than we ran. The sample neither confirms it nor contradicts it.

Why a sample cannot settle the RTP

A game with a 5,000x cap and a maximum-win frequency of about 1 in 4.8 million can pay a few very large wins in a short run and none in the next thousand. Our sample did both. That is ordinary variance, and it is why one sample can show a return far above the stated RTP while another shows a return far below it.

The practical lesson is about reading sample results. A sample tells you how often wins of each size appeared in those rounds. It does not tell you what the game is designed to return. If you record your own play, keep the count of spins, the stake and every result, and compare the spread against the published figures instead of the headline percentage.

Verified, calculated and not verified

Verified: the regular RTP of 96.50%, the 5,000x maximum win, the maximum-win frequency, the 4×6 layout and the brain scatter that triggers free spins, as shown in Pragmatic Play’s demo game information and game page on 17 October 2026. Calculated by jilibet: the peso reading at ₱20, the loss per 100 spins, the bucket shares and the sample return range. Not verified: the purchase cost on any real platform, any operator’s RTP setting, the free-spin trigger rate and whether a local site runs the same build. We did not register, deposit, or play for money.
